The UK Government are now granting companies across the areas of Sunderland, Washington and South Tyneside the funding opportunity of up to £3000 to help boost their broadband capabilities. This announcement recently arrived after Newcastle, North Tyneside and Gateshead were given the opportunity to help boost their businesses.

The programme offers small and medium businesses, charities and social enterprises free vouchers worth up to £3,000 which enables them to be connected to superfast broadband by a supplier of their choice.

The Government’s Broadband Connection Vouchers scheme is active in 22 cities around the country and is registered with over 500 suppliers. The government has committed £150 million for the SuperConnected Cities programme which is managed by Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK).

Including the £3.8 million Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) project, the scheme is worth £9 million, with the super connected cities funding the voucher scheme, Wi-Fi network and cloud innovation centre and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the City Council paying for the business support programme.

Why go Superfast?

By using superfast broadband it means that you can have better access to your business and operate fully in a global marketplace.
