The Government has made £65m available to boost broadband connectivity in the UK countryside The money will help remote rural communities access ultrafast broadband via the Rural Gigabit Connectivity (RGC) programme. Robert Jenrick, the Exchequer Secretary, explained: “This investment enables communities to leapfrog to the most advanced fibre technology.”
The Rural Gigabit Connectivity (RGC) programme is a Government-funded opportunity, of time-limited duration, which allows those in predominantly rural communities to upgrade to superfast wireless broadband. The RGC scheme will deploy full-fibre internet with a voucher scheme for participating homes and businesses to cover their installation costs.
You no longer have to choose between beautiful countryside or good connectivity - from now on, you can have both. But the chance to get that connectivity fully-funded to your home for FREE is likely to be brief, so take advantage now. The Government’s RGC voucher scheme is intended as a short-term incentive.
